The faculty is composed by:

Ziad Moussa, President of the International Organization of Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE), and the Co-Chair of EvalPartners. The IOCE represents national and regional Voluntary Organization for Professional Evaluation (VOPEs) in the Americas, Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe, and the Middle East.  EvalPartners is an innovative partnership to enhance the capacities of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) to influence policy makers, public opinion and other key stakeholders so that public policies are based on evidence, and incorporate considerations of equity and effectiveness. Mr. Moussa played key leadership roles in various development projects covering the entire Middle East and North Africa countries (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen), the Mediterranean countries involved in the Euro-Med process (Belgium, Greece, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Turkey), as well various other countries across the Global South (Azerbaijan, Benin, Japan, Kenya, Laos, Madagascar, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, UAE, Qatar, among others). Some of his flagship assignments include the “Local Authorities Partnership in the Mediterranean – MED-PACT”, The “Local Authorities in Development Supporting Initiative” within the framework of the Structured Dialogue for an Efficient Partnership in Development, “Cooperation in Urban Development and Dialogue – CIUDAD”. He currently leads the "Local Governments Resilience Programme" funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and aiming at addressing the Local Economic Development dynamics of the host communities affected by the Syrian Refugee crisis.

Alaa Ezz, General Secretary of CEEBA, has been working in the development field for over 25 years during which he has designed and implemented a host of projects establishing a number of companies in the Mediterranean and Arab regions. After ten years, he has become  Regional Director for North Africa and Middle East in the United Nations Trade and Technology Promotion System, Dr. Ezz founded EnviroEgypt SAE the lead infrastructure and utilities corporation in the region. On the public side, he is: Secretary General of the Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations, the Egyptian-German Business Council, the Egyptian Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, and the Association of Enterprises for Environmental Conservation; Vice President of the Associació Mediterrània del Medi Ambient; Advisor to the chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries and Chairman of  BusinessMed;  Executive Board Member of MedAlliance and the German Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce; Board Member of the MENA Investment Promotion Council; Coordinator of Al-Ahram Regional Press Institute; Managing Editor of Environment Today & Economy Today Magazines and Terra Viva newspaper.

Anwar Zibaoui, General Coordinator at  ASCAME, senior expert in a range of services: comprehensive plans in internationalization processes; strategic plans: Country – Markets – Industries – Company; communication and Institutional relations, organization of events, congresses, Economic Forums. Coordinator of The Mediterranean Week of Economic Leader (http://www.medaeconomicweek.org/) and of the Mediterranean Forum for Logistic & Transport (http://www.silbcn.com/en/actos_jornadas/forum_mediterraneo.php). Collaboration with International media and press Publication of articles, studies,  and conference speeches in the field of the Euro- Mediterranean, Arab and International economies and international relations. Creation of specific countries plan for Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon, Tunisia in order to support the internationalization process and the development of new investments. Presentation of several conferences and technical papers in many international Arab and Euro - Mediterranean events, symposiums and workshops. Visiting Professor in several international business schools.

Stefano Usai, CRENOS – MAPE, is full Professor of Economics at the University of Cagliari. He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Law and Political Sciences. He is also the director of a Master in European funding and projects. He graduated in Political Sciences, majoring in Economics, at the University of Cagliari, he then received the M.A. in Economics and the Mphil in Industrial and Business Studies at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom and the Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Naples. His main research interests concern Regional and Development Economics and the Economics of Technological Change. His most recent research works focused on the production of innovation and knowledge at regional level either in Europe and in the OECD countries. He has published widely in international journals and edited a few books.

Aide Esu, University of Cagliari, is Professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Cagliari, Italy. She received a Ph.D. in Sociology at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales Paris. She has been Visiting Researcher at the Fernand Braudel Center at the State University of New York. In 2014, she was Fulbright Distinguished Chair at the University of Pittsburgh (PA). In 2008, she worked with the European Regions Committee, Bruxelles on the EU Poverty Policies. Her main research interests are Social Exclusion and Political & Social conflicts in the Mediterranean Regions.

Emanuele Cabras, President of OpenMed, past CEO and Managing Partner of consultancy companies in the field of Development Projects funded by the European Union in the Euro Mediterranean area and East Europe, currently he is a free-lance Project Manager and Technical Assistance Expert supporting public and private bodies in the development of co-operation projects funded by the European Union in the EU cross-border policy framework. He carried out  training and research activities and has strong relationships with the University and other research centres..

Anna Maria D'Angelo, OpenMed, Graduated in Political Sciences at the University of Cagliari. She’s an Expert in Gender Policies and Social Policies, she has carried out evaluation work on various projects co-financed by the Structural Funds. Coordinator of the European Masters in Project Management (MaPE CRENoS) – University of Cagliari. Since 1996, she carries out consultancy and EU project management and Management & Accountability of projects funded by European, National and Regional programs on issues as Innovation and Enterprise, Mobility, Education and Culture, Territorial Governance.

Luca Santarossa, OpenMed, is an expert on Protected Areas Planning and Management socio-economic aspects. Within this framework he mainly focuses on Sustainable Tourism. He has a 20-year long work experience in policies and initiatives related with socio-economic aspects of the environmental topic, at national and international level, dealing especially with Natural Protected Areas and Nature Conservation. He worked for Italian Ministry of Environment, regional administrations, parks management bodies, environmental NGOs, and foreign (Belgium, UK, Norway, Tunisia, Brazil) consulting companies and NGOs. He also worked in the Managing Authority of several EU-funded Programmes of territorial cooperation (Interreg, ETC, ENPI) and for a number of projects funded by the latter or by other funds (LIFE, ESF, etc.).

The laboratory sessions will be supported by other members of OpenMed
